Child Cohort Related Work

The Hemi-NET Clinical Database from 2011-2013 recruited children, aged 2-18 years, with hemiplegic CP from nine clinical sites from across Ontario. The Hemi-NET Clinical Database was a large database of information about clinical risk factors, neuroimaging, genetics, neurodevelopmental outcomes as well as the psychosocial and participation dimensions of children’s lives. The data collected resulted in a better understanding of the role of genetics in CP and constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT) which is a proven treatment for children and youth with hemiplegic CP to help enhance functioning of their affected arm and hand.
